  • An Artist's Inspiration is a Labor of Love

    Lori Siebert's Labor of Love

Oopsy Daisy artist Lori Siebert has launched a digital magazine that we can't stop reading. Labor of Love is a quarterly magazine that profiles artists, showing readers where they live, work, and find their artist's inspiration.

"When an artist is really living true to themselves," Lori explains, "their aesthetic leaks into everything they do: where they live, how they dress, the things they're interested in." The first issue profiles six artists and shows their homes in all their quirky, comfy glory. In addition to their fabulous homes and studios, readers get a look into their minds, including their dream dinner companions.

"If none of my ten can play the piano, Julia Child leaves after dinner to be replaced with Cole Porter for dessert." -Bill Lambrinides

We asked Lori about the flipside of her interest in artists' homes: how does it feel, as an Oopsy Daisy artist, to know that her art is hanging in other people's homes?

"It’s the ultimate compliment when someone likes your art enough to put it in their home," she says. "It’s really cool to know that you’re bringing something to someone. My work tends to be pretty happy, so that’s the kind of feedback I get - happy feedback. That’s really fulfilling. Artists are compelled to create, no matter who the audience is, but when you can connect with someone that just kind of brings it full circle."

Connecting with art is why we here at Oopsy Daisy do what we do. Our goal is to connect you with the perfect art for the nursery or your favorite kids' rooms. Lori's art connects with lots of our customers, thanks to its light, inspiring, and imaginative subjects.

Thanks, Lori, for continuing to inspire us with your art. And now, for sharing an artist's inspiration with all the readers of Labor of Love. We can't wait to see what you come up with next!
