Christine Schwimmer loves the challenge of painting, mixing paint right on the canvas, using charcoal and scratching to make line, creating images and then destroying them. Sometimes Christine is satisfied with the outcome quickly and sometimes never. Painting allows her to express her emotions and her goal is for these emotions to be captured by the images she creates. Sometimes those images are abstract, sometimes figures without facial features. Facial features only capture outward appearance and not what lies behind the visual form. Christine prefers her paintings to be completed (or the facial features be provided) by the artist within those who observe her paintings. She is inspired by artists such as Nathan Oliviera, Antoni Tapies, Franz Kline and Basquiat.
