Betsy is a surface designer of textiles, wallpaper, and other printable substrates, who creates original artwork with mediums such as gouache, watercolor, and pen before translating the works on paper into reproducible designs.
Inspirations are driven by the concept of localism, and pretending to be a tourist in everyday surroundings makes everything seem fresh and new. She loves funny suburban rodents, garden creatures, farms, and domestic animals as well as a good mix of weeds and flowers. Visiting local farmers’ markets, fruit stands, flea, country craft, and antique shows are great places to find new ideas and develop vibrant color stories. Her two sons are a constant inspiration and loves that her self-driven, creative career allows her the freedom to spend time with them.
